DENTON

Denton is a city in the north-central region of the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population of Denton was 147,515, making it the 27th-most populous city in Texas, the 196th-most populous city in the United States, and the 12th-most populous city in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.

Denton is known for being the home of two major universities: the University of North Texas (UNT) and Texas Woman’s University (TWU). These institutions give Denton a lively college town atmosphere, with plenty of cultural and educational opportunities available to residents.

Denton also has a thriving arts and music scene, with numerous galleries, theaters, and live music venues throughout the city. The annual Denton Arts & Jazz Festival, which takes place in April, is one of the largest and most popular events in the city.

In addition to its cultural offerings, Denton is also known for its parks and natural beauty. The city is home to over 30 parks, including the expansive North Lakes Park and the scenic Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center. Denton is also located near several major lakes, including Lewisville Lake and Lake Ray Roberts, which offer opportunities for boating, fishing, and other outdoor activities.

Overall, Denton is a diverse and vibrant community with a strong sense of local pride and a commitment to education, culture, and the environment.

As of September 2021, Denton, Texas was experiencing a relatively strong housing market. According to data from Zillow, the median home value in Denton was around $261,000, which represented an increase of over 10% from the previous year.

Additionally, home values in Denton were projected to continue increasing over the coming year, although at a slightly slower rate than in previous years. The city was also seeing a fairly tight housing market, with relatively low inventory levels and homes spending fewer days on the market before being sold.

While these trends were generally positive for sellers, they could make it more challenging for buyers to find suitable properties and could potentially drive up prices. However, it’s worth noting that the housing market can be subject to a wide range of variables and can change rapidly.
